Not the soap opera that has been the last month with the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre, who parted ways late Wednesday night when Favre, the only Packers quarterback many football fans in my generation know, was traded to the New York Jets for conditional draft picks.
Which in turns means that for the first time since 1991, the Packers will not have a QB named Favre behind center. That honor will rest on the shoulders of Aaron Rodgers, who is entering his fourth season as backup and first as a starter.
Translate that into big shoes to fill when the Packers open their season.
Should Rodgers use all of the lessons he’s learned on the bench watching a legend in Favre over the last four seasons, the people of Wisconsin and mainly the Packer Nation will embrace him instantly.
Fail and Green Bay fans will have to look forward to this at Lambeau during the winter:
