After another piss-poor showing in the 2008 MLB.com Fantasy Open and realizing that at this point that if I retire from Fantasy Baseball at the age of 23, the best showing in seven years would be two division championships in the MLB.com Fantasy Open, four playoff appearances in Yahoo!, and a share of the league title in 2003.

Therefore, I will go down as Fantasy Baseball’s version of Charlie Brown, should I decide to retire at this point from Fantasy Baseball.

But knowing me, I probably won’t do that.

Right now I sit in 7th place with less than three weeks to go in the regular season and 4.5 games out of the last playoff spot.

And this week I’m facing the fourth-place team that is loaded with guys like George Sherill, Johan Santana, and Ryan Dempster in their rotation, which is contrast to my rotation, which lost Billy Wagner to injury this week along with his 27 saves.

They have Miguel Cabera, Joe Mauer, and Derrek Lee.

I have Aramis Ramrirez, Koskue, Ian Kinsler, Pudge Rodriguez, and Mark Texiera.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter which team has the most superstars.

All that matters is the final score at the end of this week’s matchup.
